Braille Skateboarding tutorial from 2014 that breaks kickflips into five steps. Covers foot placement, pop, flick, jumping and landing for skaters who can ollie but cannot land a kickflip yet.

Why skaters like it

Gets linked in r/NewSkaters whenever someone asks why their kickflip fails, mostly for fixing a flick that goes down instead of out and up.

“you're either flicking down or not committing. Either way, your front foot is not doing the right motion. It needs to come out and *up*, not down.”

you're either flicking down or not committing. Either way, your front foot is not doing the right motion. It needs to come out and *up*, not down. Aaron Kyro points this out all the time. I think this video [VIDEO] is one of them. Also, if your board is going up on you, you should lean forward more. I'd assume that this is why you can do varials but not regular flips.

Looks like you're really close! Disclaimer, I've never done a kickflip so this is probably bad advice. It seems like you are pulling your right shoulder back as you pop causing your body turning in the air leaving you at an almost 90 degree angle to the board. Try to keep your shoulders facing forward. Check out this Aaron Kyro clip, it makes it really clear that he's keeping his upper body straight: [VIDEO] Hope tha

[VIDEO] [VIDEO] Watch these 2 videos. As you slide your foot up, flick your foot upwards. You shouldn't flick downwards for a kickflip.

Much better example from the same video [VIDEO] Looks like he is indeed moving heelside. I see a lof of people who do 360 flips move toeside. I think the idea is to try and go straight up and down, but if you have a bit of movement left or right, no harm done.

You're probably flicking down, not out. Have a look at this [VIDEO], maybe.
