Braille Skateboarding tutorial on fixing common kickflip problems, including flicking down instead of out, landing the back foot but not the front, and the board flipping out from under you.

Why skaters like it

Posted in r/NewSkaters whenever someone can land the back foot but not the front. Skaters say it fixed a flick that went down instead of out.

“You are kicking down. There needs to be a slide and flick out of the toe, but not down, at the end.”

Hey I had the same problem for years and only really figured it out today! Skating on & off for 5 yrs and I could spin a full flip & land my back foot every time I tried but never my front. After trying some things today I landed 7 rolling kickflips in a few hour sesh! [VIDEO] It was this video that helped me fix it. Like he says it's kind of being in the bad habit of not flicking properly, just spinning quickly then

So...you’re doing the classic thing of flicking DOWN off the side of the board which is all wrong. Notice how your front foot is landing on the floor before the board does? It will be impossible to land like this. Go have a look at this Braille video [VIDEO] Right at the beginning they talk about the problem I think you’re having and explain it way better than I’ll be able to here. Hope this helps!

You are kicking down. There needs to be a slide and flick out of the toe, but not down, at the end. I say try again with landing front foot only. Try and stay centered over the board. this is good [VIDEO]

That sucks so bad, I forgot I had these spots because the last time I skated them was before I quit skating and I sucked then so I thought I'd give it a go. As for the board flipping out from under you watching [VIDEO] this helped me a lot.

What you are doing is a major problem and this Braille skateboard video explaines it perfectly [VIDEO]. Watch their first example and how to fix it because it is exactly what you are doing. You are flicking down and not out.
