Dale Decker rides soft and hard skateboard wheels back to back and compares grip, speed, sliding and how each feels on rough ground and at the skatepark. Aimed at skaters choosing wheels for a setup.

Gets posted in r/NewSkaters whenever someone asks about wheel hardness or soft wheels like Ricta Clouds. Shows the difference on a board instead of just explaining durometer.

You only need risers if your wheels are larger than 54-56mm, they are to prevent wheel bite. A lot of people don't use them unless they need the extra clearance for bigger wheels. I ride 54mm and don't use them for example. 78a is as soft as wheels go, they are very grippy so sliding is harder than 86a or 92a, like for a 180 or shuv you'll have to fully rotate before landing, otherwise the board will stick and throw
