Dale Decker and Dan break down one foot placement hack for better manuals. Sponsored by Voyager, aimed at skaters still working on balance and holding a manual longer.

Why skaters like it

Posted in r/NewSkaters whenever someone asks for manual tips. Skaters say fixing foot position was what got their manuals longer.

Dale Decker on YT has a nice video about this. Main thing is foot position. Starting at about 5:00 [VIDEO]

manuals are typically easier the fast you are moving. (for most skaters) one huge tip i wish i knew when i started skating was that most of controlling your balance during manuals comes from your upper body, not your lower body. try to move your front arm to balance better [VIDEO] this video by dale decker is pretty useful

1.) Technically it’s a wheelie, not a manual. Wheelies start rolling with four wheels on the ground, manuals start from an Ollie/popped trick. Wheelies are still worth learning, and worth learning the right way. 2.) Real talk, tail drag makes your entire manual not count. This is in any game of skate, any competition, etc. Accept it, move on, and take that knowledge to get better. Don’t argue with experienced skaters
