Rat Vision walkthrough on silencing squeaky skateboard trucks. Covers pivot cup fixes with wax or soap shavings and argues that soap alone often fails to last.

Why skaters like it

Linked in r/NewSkaters whenever someone asks why new trucks squeak. Points to pivot cups as the usual cause and shows a fix.

“Your truck sits inside of the pivot cup while it's on the kingpin, it allows the truck to pivot and turn. This is normally where the squeaking noise comes from.”

That's totally normal in my experience. It's annoying as hell though. You can take your truck apart and put soap or wax shavings (they both work the same) in the pivot cup. Here's a handy dandy video: [VIDEO]

[VIDEO] Here's a tutorial. Having silent trucks really makes a worlds difference if you like to listen to your board while you skate.

Often it’s the bushings or pivot cups. First try the pivot cups: Grind up the “lead” of a pencil to make graphite dust and put it in each off your pivot cups If this doesn’t you can re seat the bushings or maybe try new bushings Edit: another option for the pivot cups [VIDEO]

Buy a pack of gulf wax from your nearest supermarket, and then you shave some off and put the shavings inside your pivot cups/on your bushings and washers. Here's a great video going over it [VIDEO] Edit: one thing I like doing as opposed to shredding the wax, is just rub the part of your trucks that go into the pivot cups on the wax itself. This gets em nice and waxy and leaves some little remnants that you can then

Yea i bet it’s your trucks that are squeaking. Unscrew the king pin and put some candle wax shavings in the pivot cup. That should do the trick. Check out This video right here. [VIDEO] if you have any questions on the process.

That wasnt crappy at all dude. By the way try this [VIDEO] for your squeeky bearings. Worked like a charm on mine. (i used a candle i probably wasn't supposed to but it worked)
