Dan Corrigan's 2021 kickflip tutorial covering flick direction, popping, tweaking the back foot and landing with control. Runs about 16 minutes and aims at skaters stuck on consistency.

Why skaters like it

Gets linked in r/NewSkaters whenever someone can't land or tweak kickflips. Fixes the flick by kicking downward through the board instead of out to the side.

“he says you wanna try to flick/kick DOWNWARDS through the board, instead of flicking OUT towards the corner! def check out the vid, big props to dan corrigan<3”

I was in the same spot you are about a week ago. I didn't think I had a commitment issue, but like most other people have said, yeah it's a commitment issue. There is a Dan Corrigan vide [VIDEO] about kickflips that he talks about landing with only one foot. What finally helped me land my first kickflip was keeping in mind that landing on the board with it upside down is 100x closer to landing a kickflip than landing

Sure ! For the flick, you want your front foot to go from behind the bolts, to the side of the nose, and you want to make sure you slide your foot all the way to the the nose, and then kick it forward and it should flip nicely and tweak the back of the board automatically, here is a link to a video that really helped me have a better understanding of the trick : [VIDEO] Hope you get your kickflips soon !

Something to think about is how your shoulders are facing. Want them aligned with the board and keep them from turning. If you can keep those shoulders aligned, Youre gonna kick in a straight line. Im still working to get my kickflips on lock, but theres a consistent feeling i can sense in my posture for the ones that I land vs the ones I dont. Another bit of advice Ive figured out… over exaggerate that back foot suc

Only you can save yourself, watch some tutorials on YouTube, watch this [VIDEO]. Chill out, quit throwing your board around like it’s the boards fault you can’t land it, even if it’s just for the camera, throwing your board around looks stupid af, you’re not filming for a video part, you’re not in a competition where your stress levels are that high that you can’t have fun learning, ride around get comfortable on you

what’s up, this video ([VIDEO]) helped me a lot with consistency in regards of getting the right flick! he says you wanna try to flick/kick DOWNWARDS through the board, instead of flicking OUT towards the corner! def check out the vid, big props to dan corrigan<3

I don’t have kickflips down yet so I can’t dare to answer myself but I would like to point you to Dan Corrigan’s video on YouTube about kickflips as he covers this piece of tech. I’ll edit my post once I find the link. Edit: found it [VIDEO]

Flick straight through, don’t think about going to the side. You do want to go slightly to the side but you might just be thinking about it too much and exaggerating how far you move your foot. Look up Dan Corrigan’s kickflip video it helped me a lot. Edit - [VIDEO]

I would say it’s more about having your weight pretty evenly distributed and then jumping forward with the board to keep your body over the board and then landing on it when it’s done flipping. [VIDEO]
