VLSkate goes over habits and basics that separate a new skater from someone who looks comfortable on a board, like pushing, getting on and off, and general board handling. Aimed at first-timers who want to ride more naturally.

Why skaters like it

Gets linked in r/NewSkaters when beginners ask how to get comfortable, look less like a poser, or move smoothly from walking to riding.

Nicely done. Going down a ramp seems like such a simple thing, but for a beginner it really is super terrifying. If you want to work on more of your basic skills, I'd recommend this [VIDEO] video, because I noticed you were doing some of the things he talks about. Keep shredding!

Here's a great video [VIDEO] that covers cool ways of getting on/off your board.

I know your asking for a girls opinion but being a guy I know somewhat what we are thinking no one cares to think if your a poser or not they're probably more focused on there own tricks. If it matters so much about it look at this video; [VIDEO]. if you still feel uncomfortable ask a mate to go to the skatepark with you. as long as your progressing and working hard, your'e not a poser.

I agree with everything and want to add two more things: 1, skate, skate, skate. OP you seem uncertain on your board. 2. While ollie is a must for many tricks it is a somewgat advanced technique. There are dozens of other, maybe easier, but definitely cool stunts, where ollie isn't needed [VIDEO] [VIDEO] [VIDEO] [VIDEO]

This two videos helped me when I started. I consider it good advice regardless of your weight. [VIDEO] [VIDEO]
