If you don’t care about some other skaters potentially making fun of you, go full pads and helmet. What kind of thrift store board? Walmart/Target/etc. boards are usually a brand like Darkstar but they are much much worse than a normal complete by the same company. You are honestly much more likely to hurt yourself on a Walmart board, so try to make sure it’s not one of those decks. Personally I just pushed around in

I believe it's simply a very common mistake. If we're linking videos: here's The Berrics on nollie front 360s [VIDEO]. They haven't got a trickpedia on nollie shuvs, but at least in this one you can see which direction nollie frontside is. Think about it this way: Bob skates regular footed. Generally speaking (AND ignoring anything switch for now), anything that that Bob does turning clockwise is backside, and anything he counterclockwise is frontside... so, this is a frontside cab. THIS is also why boardslides confuse the hell out of people, because you have to turn "back" a bit to put the board in the proper position. In a ramp, you carve frontside t

It's a long road to learn all the naming conventions of skateboarding, here's a link that explains FS vs BS though ([VIDEO]) For learning the difference between other tricks like kickflisp vs heelflips, inward heel vs pressure flip. I'd just watch some tutorials, even if you aren't going to try them immediately they can be entertaining to watch and you'll retain some of the info when you are ready to try them. My fav
