First - congrats on nailing the drop-in, one of the scariest things a new skater learns. Don't look down on the drop-in, look forward at your next target and decide what you want to do next before you get there. If the issue is speed, then try a next move that involves stopping like a backside 50/50 stall [VIDEO] - one of the easiest to learn and then you can practice dropping in from the 50/50 and you'll be able to do that over and over again. If you feel like you have a handle on the speed then just practice doing backside 180 turns [VIDEO] - start on the quarter pipes going as fast as you can and then move to the half-pipe starting in the center and eventually move to starting with drop-ins.

Here's some videos I recommend for learning as a complete beginner. Skatepark Lessons is a great place to start. [LINK] I highly recommend his videos on pushing & stance [VIDEO], carving [VIDEO], kickturns. [VIDEO], and stopping. [VIDEO] Braille's videos on falling: How to Correctly Fall in Skateboarding [VIDEO] and How to Fall Without Getting Hurt [VIDEO]. I also suggest learning Parkour Safety Rolls [VIDEO] and getting those movements ingrained in your muscle memory for when you fall at high speeds. Videos on how to how to cruise and commute: NinjaLifestyle's GETTING UP A CURB, [VIDEO] Never Stop Improving's How to Ride off Curbs and Ledges [VIDEO] and Lotfi's 6 tips to cruise through urban obstacles. [VIDEO] The last video is for longboards, but most of the tips are still relevant to skateboarding. If you're interested in learning how to ollie for your commute, I can't recommend Sarah Park-Matott's channel [LINK] enough. She's a freestyle skateboarder who breaks down tricks to their essentials. Check out her 5 step method for ollies [VIDEO] and her video on safety and board control. [VIDEO]

Right before you kickturn, you see how you're 'preloading' the turn with your shoulders? It happens on all of them here, but most noticeably in the first one - your shoulders start turning to the right before your hips do. Instead, you want to 'wind up' with your shoulders in the *opposite* direction you'll be turning and use the momentum of bringing them back to keep you balanced during the turn. e.g. If kickturning to the right, briefly bring your front shoulder/arm to the left, then swing them back forward while lifting the nose and turning with your hips. This video explains it well [VIDEO].
