## Background I've tried many different skate disciplines over 20 years. I won a slalom race, I rode down Alpine roads at 80km/h, I pushed 200 miles in 24 hours, and I grinded the coping in a 3m-deep bowl. Still, I didn't feel worthy of calling myself a skater because one trick was still missing. I was afraid to die because my last thought would be "Shoot, I never landed a kickflip". ## Video tutorials If anyone's in

Look at where your shoulders are at the peak of the Ollie. They've already started to taste Rotate so to catch your balance again your body rotates with them. If you're back foot was don't a shuvit you're board would rotate the opposite way. Right now your arms are going crazy too. You need to start practicing bringing your arms out to the side as you pop. I think for me it was thinking of it as an ollie with a flick rather than a full drag. Makes it a lot easier to commit to jumping. Once I got past that initial fear of jumping, I worked a ton on the flick (if your board flips vertically, flick more off the side). It's also good to watch multiple kickflip guides and really internalizing the tips they give and thinking hard after every failed attempt about what you're

keep your shoulders straight to avoid the turning and just really get it into your head that you’re gonna land it. and if you do commit and mess up, you might just be that much more determined to land one. This is a good video for helping with kickflips: [VIDEO]
