you should be skateboarding i saw a video [VIDEO] by Ben DeGros that really stuck with me and I've tried to bring into my approach. he said that he roughly breaks his session up into three equal parts: 1. Warm up 2. Routine 3. Progression In his Warm Up, he does a bunch of things that he knows he can do and just getting a feel. For a beginner, that might be just riding around, pivoting, kick turn, ride off a curb, or whatever your level is. But the point is, you need to spend time doing the things you can do, both for confidence and comfort on the board. These will be the things you "have on lock". For the routine, its the next stage of the warmup where you build confidence and solidify things you are working on. These are tricks that are not quite on lock but you still have a good chance of doing them (think, things you can get within 5 tries). The next is progression. Do something slightly outside of your skill level and try to expand it. This doesn't have to be one trick, it could be multiple ones. For me, I think too many people focus on progression and then never make any, because they are not actually getting better at the things they can do and pushing their baseline higher.…
I got a great video [VIDEO] for you. Ben Degros goes over his 90 minute routine for skating that you may learn a good thing or two
