Why skaters like it

Newer skaters point to it when someone is stuck on stalls or wants a next move after dropping in. Commenters say the power slide tip at 3:15 unlocked stalls for them.

“… The advice at 3:15 in below video unlocked it for me. Degross says to do a quick power slide into it …”

First - congrats on nailing the drop-in, one of the scariest things a new skater learns. Don't look down on the drop-in, look forward at your next target and decide what you want to do next before you get there. If the issue is speed, then try a next move that involves stopping like a backside 50/50 stall [VIDEO] - one of the easiest to learn and then you can practice dropping in from the 50/50 and you'll be able to do that over and over again. If you feel like you have a handle on the speed then just practice doing backside 180 turns [VIDEO] - start on the quarter pipes going as fast as you can and then move to the half-pipe starting in the center and eventually move to starting with drop-ins.

Heel pressure on back foot, back heel wheel against the coping is a super easy way to lock in for backside axle stall or 50-50 grinds. Really easy to drop back in too because you just move the weight to your toes a bit and you roll right over the coping. Here’s Ben’s video on backside axle stall. It all holds true for 50-50s and the back foot lock is essentially the same. [VIDEO] Can also check out chad Caruso’s video on backside 5-0.

Nose stall, nose stall revert, early grab air. Ollie air . Ollie to fakie, fakie Ollie , disaster, board slide to fakie . As for stall and grind, these were tough and I’m still working on them . Below video and Ben degrossos tutorial on axle stall helped me the most to progress on this. Also if you can’t get enough speed for axle grinds , learn rolling drop in. It will be different if the curved transition has coping. If there's coping you'll need to learn how to drop in from a 50-50 stall. Just got those on short transitions recently. Try these videos to see how [VIDEO] [VIDEO]
