Braille Skateboarding tutorial from Aaron Kyro on frontside 180s, an updated take on his earlier version. Covers foot position, shoulder turn and timing so the board does not shoot away.

You aren't turning your shoulders nearly hard enough. You can watch the whole video if you'd like but the timestamp here that I linked is exactly what you need to improve on to really get them down. [VIDEO] To make it easier notice how he winds up his arms and shoulders before he does the trick, that's pretty much the key to this.

Check this out [VIDEO], looks like you're off to a good start. Just turn the upper body a bit earlier, turning your head to the other direction, and your feet will follow. I noticed you were still looking in the original direction around 1:10-1:12, landing and then looking in the new direction, which means you must be turning your legs before your head. Emphasis here on what I mean. [VIDEO]. You'll get a much smoother and consistent rotation once you start rotating those shoulders first, I just started doing this a week ago and my 180s have been a lot cleaner. I was doing the leg thing as well, until I consciously changed it and noticed the timing was off a bit. If you want to get comfortable with moving 180s, try learning the frontside revert. It'll get you prepared for rolling fakie/switch without having to push into it.

Kyro did an updated video on this recently [VIDEO]. I'm still trying to figure out the timing myself. He says it's mostly in the shoulders as most do, and watching it a few times in slow motion, it looks to me like his shoulders are turned 90 about the point of the pop and his legs then catch up and lead the shoulders in the finish.

Nah your weight is fine. There are many different kinds of people who skate. Kids are smaller and they can tear it up on a board. For your ollies are you landing them pretty hard? When you ollie try to slide your foot up and level the board while not putting a lot of pressure on the board. It's hard to explain but be light on your feet, use your front foot to bring the board up, level the board, and keep your foot lightly on the board till you land. That might help with height in your ollie and for your fs/bs 180, it's mostly in the shoulders. Before you pop your shoulders should be already turning in the direction you want to go in. You need to be moving. Try this: Start moving, put your front foot in sort of a heel flip position, your back foot in the pocket of your backside, then wind up your shoulders before you pop, and as you start turning your shoulder back, pop your board at the same time. [VIDEO]
