Braille Skateboarding's second ollie tutorial, from 2015. It breaks the trick into pop, slide and level-out steps for people learning on flat ground.

Why skaters like it

Posted in r/NewSkaters whenever someone asks why their ollie is low or sloppy. Commenters credit it for fixing front foot timing and leveling the board.

“My ollies got much better once I started doing that.”

Nice! However I think you missed the step where you need to slide your front foot to the nose of the board while in the air. This causes the tail of the board to be lifted. Then you need to level out the board by pushing out in front of you with your front foot. Here's [VIDEO] a video showing and explaining all of that.

If you make a point of consciously kicking your feet forward after you jump up, it will level the board more quickly and make it look more controlled. This Braille video explains what I'm talking about: [VIDEO] My ollies got much better once I started doing that.

It looks to me like your pop is pretty good, but you're not dragging your front foot forward well. First it seems like your timing might be off a bit, I think you are dragging your front foot a bit early. But also you need to drag it forward and flick out your foot a bit more to like pull it up. If you watch the Braille ollie video it will explain what I mean. Edit: [VIDEO] (2:40 is where he explains the flick)

It looks to me like you're trying to do it all at once. Try popping THEN sliding your foot. You do have some good ones there though, so it's just amatter of practice and consistency. Here's my ollies at 4 weeks skating [VIDEO] for a little comparison. Also braille tutorial [VIDEO] And skateology ollie 1000 fps [VIDEO] Hope this helps- keep it up!

holy shit you did what took me 6 years as a kid in a day. there are tons of videos online to help with cleaning the ollie up, from here you've pretty much got it. check out Braille Skateboarding, specifically these videos. In short you have to stick your front front out once you slid all the way up to the top, extending it horizontally. Bring your back foot up much higher, suck your knees in as much as you can, and t

Got to turn that ankle of your front foot and slide up to the nose of the board. Make sure your tail hits the ground when you pop, then jump and slide. Maybe a video tutorial could help? Keep at it! [VIDEO]
