I know it’s scarier, but try rolling. I feel like I was going through the same thing recently and started rolling because everyone says kickflips are easier if you’re rolling but that sounded crazy to me. It took me a good day of practice to understand what they meant. I’m finally getting the board to stay under me and they’re looking more stylish too. Far from consistent though. Working on straightening that front leg and catching it with the back foot is tough. I’d watch Jake Hayes’ short tutorials on kickflips and shuvits next. His pop is so ginormous you can really see all the movements. It’s done in so-mo too so you can see when he makes his moves during the trick to even out and the catch it. Just watch that on repeat and dream about kickflips all night and you’re there. [VIDEO]

I've just been following Jake Hayes' trick tip video and he recommends lining up your shoulders with your front foot. Jake Hayes' kickflip [VIDEO] But I know what you mean .. I think I was rotating my shoulders a little too much there. I'm still trying to understand this trick .. am I suppose to jump backwards? All the good kickflippers have their board land slightly behind them.
