A 33 second Skate IQ short with one kickflip tip. Focuses on back foot placement and popping from the side you flip toward so the board comes into your flicking foot.

Why skaters like it

Gets linked in r/NewSkaters whenever someone can't land kickflips. Skaters say the back foot tip was a light bulb moment for them.

“… This was one of those things that was like a light bulb for me once I was made aware of it …”

Your "kick" doesn't seem like it's catching the board. Try moving your back foot to the opposite side so it makes the pop rotate the opposite way, which helps your kick to catch it. This was one of those things that was like a light bulb for me once I was made aware of it [VIDEO]

That would definitely help. Sorry if my terminology is confusing I’m a pta so it’s what comes naturally to me. Your leg shouldn’t be kicking backwards at all, it should be sideways like an Ollie with a bit of a diagonal flick at the end. This is another good tip [VIDEO]

I saw a skateiq video where he said when kickflipping to pop from the opposite side you’re flipping into so the board goes into your foot so you get more grip flicking it out [VIDEO]

A kickflip and an ollie are not that far apart. I would suggest getting comfortable enough on your board that you do NOT need to hold somthing. [VIDEO] [VIDEO]
