Nyjah Huston gives a one-minute kickflip lesson for the X Games Trick Tips series. He covers a good flick, leveling the board out mid-air before catching it, and taking the trick to bigger setups.

Why skaters like it

Gets linked to new skaters fixing a rocket-style flip. One commenter says it is short on detail but gets to the point quick, another points to his posture.

Not bad dude. It's going very rocket because you're essentially just rolling your ankle off the side of the board rather than delaying the flick a little bit and kicking out and through the bolts over the nose. Watch this vid [VIDEO] Not a heap of information in the video, but it gets to the point quick and he explains perfectly where you want to aim the flick and the camera angles show the motion well too.

[VIDEO] Sorry but I don’t know how to describe it without visualization. Disregard everything he’s saying (because your foot placement is working for you) but look at his posture when he goes for a trick. His chest is up, bends down and then completes a trick. Essentially he’s performing a squat on the board. If you look at that compared to your hinging at the hips, that’s what I was getting at. Hope that makes sense
