Why skaters like it

Linked in beginner threads on drop-in fear. One commenter watched it at night, hit the park next day and landed a drop in by working through the steps.

“… I watched this in bed one night and felt I could hit the park and do it. Went the next day and worked through the steps and had it. …”

Dude, join the club... I think dropping in is one of the most individuating tasks in skating. I can pump up and kickturn both back and frontside at the top of an 8 ft. halfpipe. I can roll in on some fairly steep transition, again both back and frontside, but once I stand up and put my back wheels over the edge (pretty much any edge) and step on the tail, I shit and wuss out. Mental block?.... WTF. These are good - hopefully helpful for you - [VIDEO] [VIDEO] [VIDEO]

100% this video [VIDEO] I watched this in bed one night and felt I could hit the park and do it. Went the next day and worked through the steps and had it. JB and skatepark lessons are by far the most useful skateboard teaching videos on Facebook.
