My honest advice would be to get a more traditional style skate board. It’s gonna be really hard to ollie on that tiny little penny board. If not, my advice would be that you aren’t popping. After you bend your knees you need to jump and snap the tail down in one motion. It’s kinda hard to explain without seeing it. Here’s [VIDEO] an amazing tutorial that literally everyone should watch who’s learning how to ollie.
you have to lift your (back)knee instead of putting your foot away from the board :)[VIDEO]as you can see here, the back foot stay above the tail, not behind :)
[VIDEO] I had the same Ollies too. This video really helped.
[VIDEO] At like :49 seconds the guy just stomps the tail while standing on the ground to make the board pop up, you could do the same thing and see how poppy the board is. Sounds like it might be a bit waterlogged from being outside, but it could also be that you’re re-learning, maybe not lifting your foot off the board enough or something. But yeah if you’re looking to test pop Just slap the tail down with one foot
You’re stomping your back foot down too hard and it’s preventing the tail from popping as high as it otherwise would. Try sliding your front door/lifting your back foot before the tail snaps against the ground and use your front foot to straighten the board out in the air. this video [VIDEO] is really helpful demonstrating what I’m referring to. But keep it up! You’re well on your way
This tip will help your ollie-based tricks: Pop your tricks *slightly* behind you, and that makes the leveling out of your board easier, because instead of solely flicking out forward, the board meets you halfway as you’re flicking and thus stays underneath you. [VIDEO]
Not popping the board [VIDEO]. Practice popping the board while not standing on it like your popping it into your hand to pick it up. [VIDEO] The tail of the board needs to hit the ground hard enough to send the board flying off the ground.
Pop is ALL ankle. You do not use the force of your jump to pop the board, you just jump off the board while flicking your back ankle to pop the board. Here's a great vid explaining pop - [VIDEO]
