Why skaters like it

Gets linked in r/NewSkaters when beginners ask about FA decks, odd shapes or truck choices. It explains how the nose, tail and concave differ from a standard deck.

“… FA deck noses are 1/2" bigger than the tail (the norm is 1/4" bigger than the tail) and steeper. Both the tail and nose are squared. …”

skated a few FA decks, you're spot on. For op, Ben Degros goes into the shape in this vid [VIDEO], should clear things up for you

Never heard about thunders breaking more often. I'm sure either way would work well though. If you want a more in depth answer try this [VIDEO] video by one of my favorite youtubers Ben Degros. He reviews a lot of different board brands and switches between different trucks, he does a decent job at explaining why he chose indys for this brand or why thunders for another. Pretty sure he rides thunders in this one but been a while since i've seen it.

FA is the only noticable different shape here. [VIDEO] tl;dr FA deck noses are 1/2" bigger than the tail (the norm is 1/4" bigger than the tail) and steeper. Both the tail and nose are squared. If this is your first deck, literally none of this is going to matter to you until you start getting to know your preferences more (i.e. wanting a smaller nose, wanting a bigger tail, wanting steeper concave, etc.).
