I've been skating since 2006-ish, on and off, so maybe i can help... At a certain point i just kinda gave up on doing flip tricks and gravitated towards the tricks of the 80s and 90s. Some are beginner level, others are a little harder, but i'll list some of my favorites and tricks i plan on learning. - No complay slides [VIDEO] - no comply shuv its [VIDEO] - Boneless and other hand grab tricks [VIDEO] - This weird pseudo finger flip trick where i take my foot off and spin the board, sorta like a combo of a finger flip and no comply - Strewberry Milkshake [VIDEO] - Bert slides [VIDEO] - I get a lot of inspiration from 80s skating, before the ollie was widely used [VIDEO] I felt comfortable on my board after a year or two. Mind you, i emulated my skating after the z-boys early on. Some of the tricks i do look odd and funny but they're fun and cool to me

Nowadays, this trick is called the "Strawberry Milkshake." If you look it up on Youtube, a shit ton of results will come up. Some sources include: [VIDEO] [VIDEO] AND here is a video of the original trick (Strawberry Milkshake is a variation) just known as the "Milk Shake" by Howcast. [VIDEO]

I'm 5 days in and I'm having a blast every time I go skating, not sure I'm the right one to give advice, but still: - find someone to skate with, it's a lot more fun - get comfortable with just riding your board, it helps with your confidence, makes it easier to fully commit - don't get hung up on 1 trick, try other stuff too. My ollies are pretty decent, but I can't really do moving ollies, scares the shit out of me. Instead I attempted to do Strawberry Milkshakes [VIDEO]. Can't land them either, but even the failed attempts are fun and feel like I'm progressing. (sorry for bat english)

I spent an hour last night working on this trick after following this video [VIDEO], since it was the first one that came up on Google. I just focused on the stationary flipping part and was able to get it landing correctly by the end. You've gotta lift it much higher than you might think you do. I was pretty much just trying to do it a few inches off the ground.

Strawberry Milkshake [VIDEO] and Casanova Flip [VIDEO] are pretty cool and easy. Also, an old school kickflip [VIDEO] if you haven't got that, you can do lots of variations from that.
