You need to push straight back with your back foot and apply more force. When done correctly the board will actually land about 4 or 5 inches in front of you due to its momentum and you should be jumping forward to land on it . Another issue could be if you are leaning too far forward you might just be kicking the board straight backwards because of your weight distribution. Watch this [VIDEO] tutorial and it should help with everything from foot placement and common mistakes to turn in your shuv into a pop shuv.

Hey OP. Pop Shove Its are generally best learned while moving *because* it is a spinning trick. The board doesn't go straight up off the ground, but more in front of you. Based on the video, there is nothing really wrong here. Would recommend trying them moving though. Maybe try to land on bolts so you are not off balance? If you want an in depth pop shove it trick tip, the best one I came across is by Johhny Giger here. [VIDEO] Hope this helps.

I had the same problem with my pop shoves flipping. Johnny Gigers video helped me immensely. With foot placement and stuff. Check it out. I've worked out the kinks in my pop shove. But the board flipping was largely due to the placement of my back foot. Check out the vid [VIDEO]. Let me know if you get stuck on any thing else

Jumping more will give your feet time to reposition/“catch” the board. Compare your back foot height to this video. [VIDEO] Just to be clear, I’m not tryna be down on you at all. If you’re looking for advice, I’m just advising you jump a little higher.
