Braille Skateboarding explains the physics of an ollie in under five minutes, covering how the pop, the front foot slide and the jump lift the board. Aaron Kyro is the instructor in this 2014 upload.

Beginners in r/NewSkaters link it when someone asks why the front foot slides and how pop and jump fit together. It gives the mechanics behind the motion.

I’ve seen some skaters actually flick the front of the board forward to bring the back side up higher and catch it with their back foot and bring it back central. [VIDEO]

[VIDEO] That video doesn’t really explain that you jump with your back foot when you pop, but yes you do. You jump with it right after you pop, but it is pretty much all in the motion and it happens at the same time. Good luck.
