How-To Skateboarding: Acid Drops & Bomb Drops with Tony Hawk & Mike Vallely

Just so you know, your title is kind of misleading since bomb drops [VIDEO] are completely irrelevant to what's happening in this picture

Acid drops and bomb drops: [VIDEO] Caveman: [VIDEO] Caveman is on flat ground, starting on your feet. Acid drops are on ledges, and you're already on your board. Bomb drops are also on ledges, but you're starting on your feet.

Not to be *that guy*, but this is technically a bomb drop, a caveman is jumping onto the board into a trick, like a grind or boardslide. No; it's a caveman-- an acid drop is usu rolling and always hands free. As you may dispute my personal knowledge of learning both tricks in the 80s, here are two legends of skateboarding to explain the difference. [VIDEO] Caveman can also be called a bomb drop, I guess, though I never heard that back in the day, and it sounds stupid imo.

A caveman is just jumping on to your board from a grab, doesn't need a rail. If you do that, you'd have a caveman boardslide, or grind. A bomb drop is like a caveman off of something. At some point people started calling cavemans as acid drops, but an acid drop is really just riding off something without an Ollie. [VIDEO]
