Braille Skateboarding tutorial on pop shove-its, part of its Skate Support series. Covers foot placement for the shove and front foot, and how to fix common problems.

Why skaters like it

Linked in beginner threads on shuvits as a go-to for foot position on the shove and front foot, with several videos covering the same steps.

“… The videos braille has on them really helped (several covering the same steps/tips). Watch the first section about no-pop shuvits, and see how he positions both of his feet and how he hops. …”

What's the problem with your ollie moving? Is it that your board is not coming up off the ground, are you not able to land it, are you landing weird? And the shuvit is most likely you're not hopping up with your back foot long enough. Your front foot landing first is correct, so your back foot should be in the air longer than your front to land right after. A tip that really helped me was to hop like bunny and hop a little forward, as in perpendicular to the way your board is facing. Hopping forward just a bit always puts me directly over my board. And here is a shuv-it video that really helped. Look closely at the foot positioning and how he shuvs, and how he hops. [VIDEO]

For me, it was about getting the right foot position for the "shove" and for my front foot as well. The videos braille has on them really helped (several covering the same steps/tips). Watch the first section about no-pop shuvits, and see how he positions both of his feet and how he hops. [VIDEO]
