A common mistake when doing ollie based tricks is leaving your popping foot on the board during the pop. But its actually as you jump your popping foot is throwing the tail/nose at the ground while getting up and giving the board the space to pop up. If you leave your foot on the board then you will pin it to the ground. There has to be space there in order for the board to rebound and pop up. [this video]
