How to HEELFLIP | Quick & Easy Tutorial (6 minutes)

Skate IQ heelflip tutorial for beginners. Covers foot position, the squat, flicking motion and landing sequence, with goofy and regular examples, in about six minutes.

Why skaters like it

Recommended in help threads when a heelflip shoots out forward or spins behind the skater. Skaters say it explains foot position and flick better than they can.

“Putting too much weight on your front foot causes the board to spin out behind you. Try to keep your weight even on both feet. …”

I'll start just by recommending skateiqs vid [this video] It's kinda hard to judge since you're not really jumping/popping proper so it's basically always just gonna shoot out on you. But from what I can tell, yes your flick is basically going straight forward and isn't getting near the nose. Also I can't tell exactly where you're looking but it kinda looks like you're just staring off into the distance, you should be looking at your nose at the spot your foot should hit it. Just like hand-eye coordination, look at the thing you're reaching for Also if you haven't tried kickflips before this, I feel like most people find them easier than heelflips, me included
