Short ollie tutorial from Zane York that argues the usual pop, slide, jump order is wrong and teaches how to time each part. Aimed at new skaters who can't get their ollie higher.

Why skaters like it

Zane links it in r/NewSkaters threads when beginners ask why their ollie is low or mistimed. Short and focused on timing.

“… consider slowing down the process entirely in order to establish the right foundations of pop, slide, level, and timing. …”

dope!!! You're back foot is a little heavy on the board, muting your pop a bit. This might be from the lack of jump but your mechanics are sound and you're well on your way to a big ollie. Maybe try to ollie up a curb with grass on it to practice channeling a higher jump. I also have a video or two on how to ollie if you're interested: [VIDEO] [VIDEO] Timing The Ollie: [VIDEO] No stress tho bro! keep up the good shredding :D

Check out this vid. [VIDEO] You gotta practise your jump and pop timing Maybe try on the grass a bit, so you aren't dealing too much with the board getting away from you. Or use a crack in the pavement to keep you stationary.
