There are actually a lot of useful links in our wiki here. Also, consider looking into the following for stuff you can work on right now: learn to manual, learn freestyle tricks, for instance, Monster Walking was the first trick I got on lock. Maybe Hippie Jumps or slappy grinds and board stalls. Practice getting your 180 kickturns down and learn to tic tac to the point that it's second nature. right now, I am tryng to learn old school kickflips which need no ollie experience. here are a couple of videos with suggestions. maybe go to a park or somewhere where you can learn to drop in or grind. I have! I used Tensors meant for probably a 7.5" board with an 8.25". Zero issues as far as their width, but I did use lows which are slung a couple cm lower than regular trucks so I'm not sure if that had an effect. It didn't really bother me when riding at all. I prefer trucks that are too small rather than too large so I can get into a primo stall [VIDEO] easily, which is really fun. But it might be a downside if you're scared of your board landing primo for other tricks, which is more likely with smaller trucks.
