Linked in threads arguing over how to name fakie and halfcab noseslides, as a reference for what a frontside halfcab noseslide looks like.

“Think about it if it were a blunt slide or nose slide. Those are easier to see and are also frontside if the skater has the back to the sliding direction. Tailslides are opposite. …”

Think about it if it were a blunt slide or nose slide. Those are easier to see and are also frontside if the skater has the back to the sliding direction. Tailslides are opposite. The defining factor of whether the ledge is in front of you only works when you do the trick normally. Going fakie will turn your body, but it doesn't reverse the name of the trick. F.i. I ride regular, left foot in front. Frontside tailslide: Going with my left foot in front. The ledge is front of me. Ollie 90° frontside. Land on right foot on the tail. My chest in the direction of the slide. Fakie frontside tailslide: I am going fakie, right foot in front. Ledge is behind me. Fakie ollie 90° backside. Land on right foot on tail. My chest is in the direction of the slide. There's just no way that this should ever be labeled fakie backside tailslide, even if the ledge is behind me as I approach it. Edit: here's a fakie frontside boardslide [VIDEO] the ledge is behind him. here's a fakie backside tailslide [VIDEO] the ledge is in front of him. here's a fakie frontside noseslide [VIDEO] the ledge is behind him.

Are you saying that doing a trick fakie makes frontside/backside automatically the opposite? This is incorrect. There are many instances Reddit naming a trick incorrectly. When in doubt of what to call a trick, I have found that the best point of reference are the magazines - they always have it right. Here are some examples of fakie frontside noseslides variations from 2 reputable sources: RIDE: [VIDEO] Berrics: [VIDEO]
