Why skaters like it

Skaters point beginners to it when they ask how to ollie. One commenter credits it for landing a first ollie and calls Aron's channel a source of solid how-to tips.

“… Board quality doesn't matter honestly, I learned on a wal-mart board. Just keep trying you will get it. Watch some youtube videos. …”

A full month of trying every single day. Board quality doesn't matter honestly, I learned on a wal-mart board. Just keep trying you will get it. Watch some youtube videos. This is a good one [VIDEO] Aronl has a TON of good tips and how to videos once you start learning more things.

Yup, this is an important skate hack. Works with all ollie based tricks. I like the way OP phrased it, but another way of looking at it is that **you need to have your weight distributed correctly when you pop or else the board won't stick to your front foot well.** I try to get the board weightless and sticking to my front foot by having my center of gravity more over my front foot when I pop and jump. Rad Rat on youtube really understands the technical side of skateboarding (although unlike him I pop most of my tricks with my foot in the pocket). Check out this video on the ollie, but the weight distribution tips will improve all of your tricks: [VIDEO]
