I'm 44 and started skating just over a month ago and was slightly intimated about standing on a board that could essentially just fly out from underneath me. Here's some tips that helped me to gain confidence: 1. Place the board in front of you, stand parallel and line up both feet with the board's bolts. Now, with confidence, jump straight onto the board - it'll be scary at first but notice that when both feet land

I had the same problem, but I just followed this 'tutorial' of Aaron Kyro teaching a new skater like this. [VIDEO] Before I knew I was pushing faster and more often than I realized.

Now, with confidence, jump straight onto the board - it'll be scary at first but notice that when both feet land on the bolts, the board doesn't move! You can jump straight off either direction. Doing this helps to drive home that the board won't just fly off. I honestly find that if I'm on the bolts (and that can be stand

Some questions: 1. How long have you been skateboarding? If it's a very short period of time you probably just need to practice more, some people learn at different paces as well so don't base your progress on someone else. 2. Have you seen any of these videos on how to ride a skateboard? If not they are pretty helpful and will probably give you most of the help you need 1 [VIDEO] 2 [VIDEO] 3 [VIDEO] 3. Are you pushi

That's the honest truth? It seems like when people make "Teaching this person to push" videos on YouTube everybody learns to push in 3 minutes. For example, in the video here: [VIDEO] It's literally 4 minutes into the video that she can push. Is this all faked? Have these people actually been coached for a month before making these videos? If that's true, then I guess I'd feel better about myself, but it also says so
