Thrasher Classics short on Guy Mariano's part in Blind's Video Days (1991). The description also covers his Fully Flared comeback and his 2011 King of the Road win with Lakai.

Why skaters like it

Posted to show how little Mariano skated big boards with big wheels, and as a pick for soulful, stylish street skating over sheer gaps and stairs.

“I'd take guy Mariano video days over crash test dummy gaps and stairs any day. So much soul and style.”

Obviously there bigger and gnarlier parts, I’d take guy Mariano video days over crash test dummy gaps and stairs any day. So much soul and style. [VIDEO] For gnarly stuff, everything after pat Duffy is derivative. [VIDEO] Pj Ladd in wonderful horrible life as well. The stupidest display of board control ever. [VIDEO]

Yeah that would be fine. These are just subtle variations of the same small trick skating deck, so 8.5 isn't "big" it's just a slightly different shape of small. There's less than an inch difference between any of the normal sizes. Before these little boards existed kids did these tricks on 9.5 - 10.5 decks. When people ask this I usually post little guy mariano shredding on a 9.5 [VIDEO]

A good way to gauge this is to look at a Guy Mariano’s parts from Ban This [VIDEO], Video Days [VIDEO], and Pack of Lies [VIDEO] and look at how his setup progresses over these three years. From a shaped street board with 60s to a double-kick shovel nose with 55s to a football popsicle with 45s.

Your board is fine. If you know how to do a trick you can do it on any of the normal sizes. If you don't know how to do it, you can't do it on any of them. Were you maybe just throwing it around in the air and thinking "wow it's easier to throw around"? Because that much is true - it takes less force to make a small board go flinging through the air, but it's harder to *control* that flinging around to make it do exa

the key thing with any blunt variation on rail is that u have to pop over the rail and land on the other side. that’s the core requirement. look at this [VIDEO] fs bluntslide down el toro... not vertical but still very sick and still undeniably a bluntslide. more vertical might look better in photos but that’s just aesthetics its never been a requirement for any blunt variation on a rail. when guy mariano did this [V
