A 40 second slow motion clip of a shuvit from Super Movement, 2014. Shows foot movement through the trick frame by frame.

Why skaters like it

Beginners link it when someone can't get the board to stay with them on shuvits. Slow motion shows front foot lift and back foot scoop timing.

“… Look at the front foot. It's just lifting off the board and preparing to land back. The back foot does a scoop motion at the same time. Like all tricks.. timing is the key. …”

One final piece of unsolicited advice 🤣 Try putting some more weight in your back foot (and thus the tail) as you start to push your foot back, so that you lift the nose slightly. The board will pivot easier on two wheels and you'll be able to get that proper scooping motion you're supposed to get with a shuv as opposed to four wheels dragging on the ground as it spins around. Not the best video [VIDEO], but gives a good example of what I'm trying to explain.

There I found this... Look at the front foot. It's just lifting off the board and preparing to land back. The back foot does a scoop motion at the same time. Like all tricks.. timing is the key. Seems impossible at first but eventually it happens. [VIDEO]
