Why skaters like it

Shows how a late flip comes together in slow motion. Linked in a beginner help thread as a reference for the trick and why it needs airtime.

I assure you this is not fake. It is in slow motion and I started the gif before i crouch to make it shorter. Also I am in the middle of an outdoor basketball court so idk what I would be holding on to haha. Here is the original YouTube video. [VIDEO]

Fun trick. First off, you really should learn these off a curb cut, hip, drop. The reason is you need airtime. Now to the tech of it. I do these a certain way which may or may not be wrong but it works. I will assume you are using front foot to flip. To make this simple you need to control the tilt of the board after its pop shuv. Normally the board is already kinda wanting to flip in kickflip fashion after the spin on a pop shuv so you need to counter this and that is done on the pop. My method is to put the ball of my foot near the "wrong" side of the tail similar to a pressure flip.. but don't fully pressureflip!! This puts the board in a very nice position after the spin to simply pull your foot back (or even just lightly tap with a pointed toe) and initiate a quick little kickflip. Think about it... I am right. [VIDEO]
