Why skaters like it

Gets posted in threads where skaters argue whether a trick is a hardflip or a front shuv, since slow motion shows how it should look.

“I think this is just the deceptive nature of the hardflip. It can look like it doesn't flip because you see the trucks the whole way around but that's just what they look like”

I think this is just the deceptive nature of the hardflip. It can look like it doesn't flip because you see the trucks the whole way around but that's just what they look like [VIDEO]. I would love for OP's to be a bit less vertical but I think it ultimately is a hardflip

They both take a lot of practice. Just watch some videos and try putting your feet in different places. For example, some people do hardflips by putting their backfoot in the far pocket of the board, some people do it by putting it in the near pocket of the board. Jimmy Carlin does his hardflips with his foot in the far pocket, Sean Malto does them with his back foot in the close pocket. Experiment with different sta

Watch this: [VIDEO] I've only landed a couple but working on them. I've noticed a lot of pros push the board in front of them, but don't rotate it a full 180°. Catch and pull the nose of the board back with your front foot. Like all shuv tricks, use your back foot for the shuv, and the front for the flick/flip. Check Sean Malto's last try in the finals of the Portland Street League stop, I think this is the link but

A hardflip is supposed to be like a varial flip, but instead you scoop the board to get it to spin frontside while doing a kickflip. Super vertical hardflips aren't an issue because let's be real, everyone does them with that popsicle/rocket air angle because of Tony Hawk's games. The question is "Does the board spin frontside?" I don't **think** it does but I can't slow the video down more to confirm or deny it beca
