You're pinching the tail, see Sarah's video [VIDEO].
Keep at it! You’ve got this. As others have said, you’ll definitely need to jump more. A non-obvious thing is that you need to pop at the last moment in your jump, as your body weight is already lifting off the ground and about to leave. Then, the pop will snap up your nose, and you pull that up and forward with the side of your front foot. The pop timing is super important. It’s very, very easy to unintentionally ho
Try this video [VIDEO] I thought it was more helpful than the Braille video.
It's not looking too bad at all! I was at this stage about 6 months ago and this is how I got better: Start practicing while moving. It helps to stop the turn, as you can concentrate on moving your hips forwards a bit while jumping which can help stop you turning front side. Also concentrate on not chucking your front arm back, as that pulls you round as well. Really concentrate on your front foot. It's a drag up, an
The rocket is more about the highest point of each end of your board than it is about what your feet did. Your nose gets way higher than your tail ever does, and the board doesn't really level out in the air near the peak of your jump. Watch Sarah Park-Matott's videos. She does a really good job of explaining the mechanics beyond "push tail down, slide foot forward" [VIDEO] [VIDEO]
I understand the vid is dark, but it isn't that hard to see lmao. But for a rocketed ollie, 1. Imagine tucking your knees to your chest when popping and sliding up the front foot. Getting as much weight off your board and not pinning the board down allows for good height 2. When leveling out the board, you have to push your front foot out while your back foot is continuing to lift up. Your hips/legs end up almost doi
Alright, my best guess: -Your back foot pops backwards/diagonally instead of down. This decreases the amount of pop. -Your front foot doesn't push forward, so your board doesn't level out that much. -Tuck in those knees. Jump higher. Your back foot will limit your board from going higher if your board would level out more. Check this video: [VIDEO] Hope this helps!
8 common mistake learning Ollie [VIDEO] Trust me thus vid helping me a lot. Her perspective is more from a new starter standpoint and also highlight areas which commonly taught about might not work for newbie. Also, if you got a good basic and suggest you may try doing that on a fakie (slide backward may help you align your back foot straight up to the board)
