Why skaters like it

Posted whenever someone asks if tricks are possible on a penny board, a noseless board or soft wheels. Proof that board size matters less than skill.

“The ollie was invented before boards had noses. They're not required and you definitely can ollie on a dinghy.”

Yes, it will be much harder however. Check out this video to see what can be accomplished without a nose (on a penny board). [VIDEO]

For cruising a wheel like that around 78a will take you the furthest per push and ride the smoothest. If you're interested in tricks too you certainly can do them on soft cruiser wheels [VIDEO], but you may prefer the feeling of doing them on a bit harder wheel in the 85a to 90a range. They roll rougher, but have a more solid feeling to pop tricks on so it's a bit of a compromise.

The ollie was invented before boards had noses. They're not required and you definitely can ollie on a dinghy. I dunno if this will make it seem more possible or not, but here's a guy proving that you can do a heck of a lot more than ollie on a board a heck of a lot less good than a dinghy: Manolo Robles must be a wizard or something [VIDEO]

sure [VIDEO] it'll be a lot harder though.

Hey man, I think you mean well, but have you ever actually ridden a penny board or a longboard? > Pennies go slow Pennies go faster than most tech street skateboards. 59mm soft wheels just naturally are easier to get up to speed than 53-54mm hard wheels on most neighborhood surfaces. You are definitely right that they require more skill to ride at the 22" size, and so most penny beginners do need to go super slow bec
