what helped me to get my pop shuvs down was a guy saying: "think of the scoop kind of like a delayed scoop" and it instantly clicked. also you can have your backfoot more centered. they dont have to hang out the way they do on a normal shuv it. think the name was "toms tutorials" or something. edit : found it [VIDEO]

Here’s a way to practice that really helped me. [VIDEO] I actually learned to practice this way but going up stairs. So you put a paper or multiple on the stair and use your back foot to scoop them backwards while jumping up the stairs one by one. Practice doing that and focus on keeping your shoulders square. If you practice this enough and just imagine you’re on the stairs while on your board you’ll get it! Btw rolling even a little can help with the board shooting out, and fakie shuvs are easiest to learn so try those if you’re comfortable with it!

Oh yeah no doubt that’s called landing primo. I broke my tailbone like that it’s a bummer. The unintended flipping usually is caused more by your back foot placement then your front foot placement. Keep your toe in the pocket of the tail. That’s what helped me stop the unintentional flip. Check out this foot placement [VIDEO]
