CCS tests a Santa Cruz VX deck by having Matt Price, a 260 lb board breaker, ollie 100 stairs in three stair increments. Gear wear test from 2019.

Why skaters like it

Gets linked to heavier skaters asking which deck will not snap. The VX test is the go-to proof that the construction holds up.

“Santa Cruz vx decks are nearly indestructible, they got some next kind of construction. they do run a bit more than standard decks if I’m not mistaken. …”

No problem. One of my homies is about your size, and he breaks decks constantly unless they’re reinforced in some way. A boardslide on a rail is like an instant board breaker with a standard deck for him. [VIDEO] This should show you what I’m talking about

Don't know the price, but the guy in this video says he weighs 260 and is always breaking boards, but not on the Santa Cruz Unbreakable VX Skateboard.Santa Cruz VX [VIDEO]

[VIDEO] also look into powell Peralta flight decks Edit: see if you can find a skate shop to stand on a few decks and see how different sizes feel. If not 8" is pretty standard and will probably be fine

For sure look into a VX or (from Santa Cruz/Creature) or Flight Deck (from Powell). Here is a video of a 260 lbs guy skating a VX deck [VIDEO]
