Hey! This is an easy mistake to make while learning these do don't stress it, you're not alone. Where is your foot positioned on the tail? You should be standing UP on that very edge/corner of the tail on your back toes, so part of your toes are hanging over the edge like a monkey grip. That should help big time with your scoop.
