Dude just go for it. If you're capable of running, you're capable of skating. Don't let any excuses get in the way. Skinny or fat, skating is really challenging for anyone who is starting out, but it's super fun and rewarding. From a fitness perspective, it helps to have decent cardio. Simply jogging, doing jumping jacks, or burpees will help this. Skating is all about balance and bodyweight strength. You spend most of your time doing some various of a squat (jumping) or pistol squat (pushing). You can easily practice this at home without a board or without weights. Practice bodyweight squats, if it's not challenging enough then simply keep adding weight. See if you can do 20, 50, 100. Just get comfortable with that jumping squat motion. Do some core exercising next, this is essential for balance. For inspiration, here are two pro skaters that are "chubby". It is unconventional, but as you'll see these are two of the best young skaters in the game. Jamie Foy: [VIDEO] Frankie Villani: [VIDEO]
