New Balance short film from 2013, released through Thrasher, following a team trip to Vancouver's Second Narrows area. Tyler Surrey, Marquise Henry and John Rattray skate, with heavy match cut editing linking tricks across spots.

Why skaters like it

Posted whenever someone asks for well edited parts or skate videos where tricks cut seamlessly into each other. Match cuts are the hook.

Here is the link for anyone interested. [VIDEO] The way that you described the editing made it sound like they were trying to cheese tricks that he didn't land with other landings he stomped. Instead, it's some of the most creative transitions I've seen in a skate video.

This is probably a question of taste, but one of my favourite skate videos, just cause of the vibe it creates, is probably new balance "second narrows" [VIDEO] . You could argue that you never see the last trick of a line, but weve seen these great dudes do these tricks a 100x times. I say, we just believe them that they landed their last trick and just gonna enjoy these smooth beats, black and white and nice transit

I knew immediately too. They're called match cuts, they're not very common, and they generated a lot discussion here last summer so this was an easy call: [VIDEO]
