Why skaters like it

Posted as a go-to clip when people ask for skate history. Skaters point to the flatground ollie that crowds cheered as a brand new trick.

“He does a flatground Ollie and everyone cheers because it was a brand new trick. Crazy how significant that one little trick became in the world of skating.”

Oceanside 86 [VIDEO] He screwed up once slightly but otherwise pretty much flawless run. He does a flatground Ollie and everyone cheers because it was a brand new trick. Crazy how significant that one little trick became in the world of skating.

Rodney Mullen's 1986 Oceanside performance [VIDEO] is one of my all-time favorites

I started learning before YouTube, and everyone who I saw bail used the knee slide, so I just took it as my go to for bailing if I can't walk it off. I almost prefer to knee slide over walking it off, since it is a little safer for your ankles. You can find some professional skaters in knee pads only in the 80's. [VIDEO]

I’ve been there, and it’s hard. Maybe watch some Rodney Mullen and Andy Anderson, and try out some new flat land tricks! [VIDEO] [VIDEO] Also, yeah, practice doing ollies over stuff, like others have said. Start with a chalk line, then a 2x4, then either keep going up or try to do tricks over that stuff.

No offence but this would be much easier than a covonut wheelie because all you have to do is lean toeside, as soon as you do that then the revert would feel natural out from that position Have you watched any freestyle? Because for about an entire decade no one was even doing ollies, it was all low speed technical skating with heaps of spins and balance. Nice, you can find shaped decks very similar to the ones in that movie. If you liked the skating in that movie, check out rodney mullen [VIDEO] and more recently Andy Anderson
