Magenta Skateboards edit from San Francisco, 2013. Leo Valls and Ben Gore skate driveway bumps called woops, once used by SF downhill pioneers like Tommy Guerrero. Filmed by Zach Chamberlin.

Why skaters like it

Posted when people ask for videos with flow, long lines and smooth cruising. Also a go-to for skaters who want fun, relaxed skating that still has skill.

There is a few really good points put into there, but from my perspective, there is a vast difference in some parts of skating but in other parts not so much, see Magentas "Old Woops New Groove" [VIDEO] What they are doing is very similar as to what you might see in a longboard video, just with the occasional kick flip. Now I am not saying that skateboarding is better than longboarding, it's just they are different.

It's the aesthetic, price and practicability. Feels wrong when it's like 60fps, looking like some soap opera. Cameras need to be cheap and portable to be used lots in skateboarding. Imagine trying to film something like this [VIDEO] with a camera that requires a harness. Then imagine falling over with an expensive camera. Or having a stray board hit your camera. Too much stress. No to say that downhill is just a longboard thing. I love watching vids with downhill skating. Old Woops New Groove [VIDEO] and Westgate's Made [VIDEO] part have some sweet shredding
