Why skaters like it

Gets linked in threads about the biggest stair set ever attempted. Skaters argue over the real stair height and how a fall at that speed spreads impact.

“It's fucking gnarly regardless how tall it is or isn't though.”

I want to see someone try to reattempt: [VIDEO] But in all honesty, I think its physically impossible.

Going faster doesn't reduce the force you hit the ground with. It just gives your body a good set up to distribute the force over a bigger area. It is like a parkour roll, [VIDEO] . When you go fast you naturally fall forward (first onto your feet then onto your side and back), taking some of the impact with your knees and some with your body. Look how Ali collapses when he lands [VIDEO]

I guess it doesn't matter either way since its in france. Check out 31 second mark in this video. Ali sets his board (I doubt he skates less than an 8") right against the stair and its taller by an inch or more. [VIDEO] It's fucking gnarly regardless how tall it is or isn't though.
