Why skaters like it

Shows up when skaters talk about manuals, both as a way to see balance over a long distance and as a record that people look up after hearing about it.

“… The easiest way to see it is, look a video of someone who is doing a manual for a longer space. …”

When you do a 180 or any motion that raises the front of the of the board, the lift is not accomplished by leaning its is accomplished by raising your front foot, but keep your center of balance over top of the board. The easiest way to see it is, look a video of someone who is doing a manual for a longer space. [VIDEO] You will see that their torso "teapots" forward over their front leg to maintain the balance. Any 180 is same thing just faster and less pronounced. Get in your normal riding stance and practicing taping the front of the board up and down by lift that front foot and putting it back down. When you go to do the 180 your torso is going to spin in the direction you want your legs to follow but it should stay centered over your board. Hope that helps, Cheers
